Hi John, One more factor to consider is the question of how you are measuring your output power. If you are using the KX1's display you need to remember that the power out shown there is dependent on the match that you have with your antenna. A mismatch produces a higher "power out" value than a 1:1 swr match will give. So this is a factor if you are measuring your output power into actual antennas instead of a good dummy load.
