I have recently purchased an SB1000 & am expecting an antenna tuner in another week or so. My question relates to connecting the K2/100 to the amplifier. There is a "keying connection" from J7 on the K2/100. I assume this should work.
SB-1000 - "requires contact closure or sink of +12 volts DC @ 100 mA" How about ALC? The SB1000 has an ALC connection & adjustment......."0-20 volts, negative going." Do I need to connect the K2 ALC to the Heathkit SB-1000? Here's what the manual says: =============================== SETTING THE ALC ADJ CONTROL Before the ALC circuitry can fucntions properly the ALC ADJ on the rear of the Amplifier muste be adjusted to work with your particular exciter.... 1. Set the MULTIMETER sitch to POWER OUTPUT 2. Set the transmitter audio control to approx 20% higher than normal 3. Speak int o the microphone in a normal tone of voice and observe the indication on the 0-2000 RF watts meter scale. 4.
