Good Evening,
Now that was something! Twenty meters made me check to see if there was cotton wadded inside of my headphones. Forty meters seemed weaker than normal but that made the QRN more bearable :) I am happy to say I was not skunked. Oddly enough I have never been skunked in all the times I have run ECN. Thank you! You make my Sunday evenings much brighter. No matter how I feel when I am getting ready to start the nets I feel much better afterwards. How could someone give up something like that? Plus I get critter advice while I am on the air. Speaking of critters: the squirrels have moved back inside the house to bug me. However, I have learned a few things about getting them to move back outside. Over the next couple weeks we shall have our little battle and see who wins. The deer and elk have been moving through the property on a very regular basis while the birds are starting to move too. Just the other night I was out a few hours after dark when I heard a flock of geese passing over. The seasons must be about to change. It also means I must continue cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking wood. The weather will be just a little warm for that and the fire watch on medium. Good thing I can cut within the length of my hose.

As you can tell there were a couple stations who barely made it and a few who got honorable mention by getting a few characters of their call sign noted. I hope next week brings us better conditions. Being at the bottom of the sunspot cycle is causing a few difficulties but everything will get better from here. The sun is moving back south again so the evening hours will extend plus the sun will grow more active. Soon we'll be sitting next to our heaters listening to the tones of CW while the snow slides by our windows. I'd better get cutting so Sam and I are cozy and warm while winter comes and goes.
   Please stay well,
      73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
