Previous status updates were dated Sept 6th, 18th and 29th. No precedent that they should be weekly. The shipping status page still states that "shipments are currently targeted to begin shipping week of Oct 8th." If nothing has changed, why the need for an update? There is an old saying that "no news is good news." Chill out, folks.
