What about a sierra with a 40 meter plug in? The only thing I don't like about the sierra maybe is the limited vfo range.
Sometimes the slow CW guys hang out in the old novice portion of the band, and CW IS allowed anywhere in the band... I have very fond memories of the novice segments! I have not had one, but the basic design of the sierra looks good to me, all it needs is a wide range accurate vfo maybe. I must say, I really like analog, I sure hope the K3 acts like an analog radio.
