I agree with you 100% on your comments re the continuing delays on the K3
despatch.
I posted earlier on the Elecraft reflector that I really thought Elecraft
should have been more realistic with their expectations of delivering product.
Sadly, I received similar responses on the elecraft reflector, which I found
offensive and downright rude.
Whilst it seems folks on the other side of the pond are only too keen to
complain to the wait staff when they are being served in a restaurant (and then
leave them a 20% tip HI HI) .....it seems voicing one's opinion criticising
the performance of the Elecraft company is not tolerated by one or two
individuals, who have an awful lot to say, mostly without substance.
If only Elecraft had put their hands up and said 'Folks we have made a huge
underestimate of the popularity of the K3 and we will not be able to start
shipping in sensible quantiies until 2008. Folks who have placed a deposit or
paid in full will be able to claim a refund if they so wish'. I reckon 99.9%
would have thought much more highly of Elecraft for a sincere statement like
that than the multiple irregular postings advising of further delays. The vast
majority would have left their order in place and stuck with Elecraft during
this difficult period.
Frankly, like you, I remain very disappointed at the continuing broken
promises from Elecraft, and sadly I don't now believe a word I read on their
website re future delivery timescales. Based on my very positive experience of
the K2 I have remained patient awaiting delivery.
The radio might arrive sometime soon it might not. I have set myself a
timeframe by which if the radio hasn't been despatched I will request a full
refund.
All I can say is that this K3 will have to be one hell of a good radio when it
eventiually arrives. For now I only have a select band of US based reviewers to
re assure me that I have made the right decision. If it isn't 1000% better than
my K2 I guess I could always sell it to a waiting buyer for the second
batch........
I await the pile up .... but I won't hear you I am using my K3 ;-) ;-)
