...When I turn the denoiser on in CW mode, the waterfall shows
nulls every ~100Hz or so, and 600Hz falls right near one of those. The
CW note sounds ragged when it gets near one and I need to RIT slightly
to get it out of it.
Are these nulls expected?
The denoiser is a series of filters so what you describe is likely when
there is just band noise and you are using a wide crystal filter.
When a tone is received, the filters should tighten up around the tone.
You may want to adjust the decay to to make them spread out less quickly
if you observe that they are spreading back too quickly.
I wouldn't expect a raspy tone when using the denoiser.
The denoiser isn't much good if you are using a narrow filter, either
crystal or DSP. It is only effective if you have the passband opened up.
