Oh I can hear it now.  Grandfather talking to grandson: Why you kids have it
so easy today with your bioengineered esp nano radios, you just think about
DX and it is there.  Why in my day I had to walk two kames to the post
office and back -- in the snow -- just to retrieve my kit, and then I had to
assemble it myself, connect tuners and antennae, and pray for sunspots!

BTW - has anyone here carried their K3 more than 2 kames in the snow to get
it to the shack? That's dedication :-)
