I paid five bucks to check in with Elecraft from a wifi hotspot in LV "late August" (which turned out to be Aug 31), anxious to hear that ten or more units had shipped on that day, with more to follow. That made sense because of the original "late July" estimate from Elecraft.
Ten weeks later that's what we have, eleven of them out there. One or two at a painstaking time. Mine (from group one May 10) will probably be here just before Christmas which would have been pretty easy to accept had that date been provided up front. As it is, it's been somewhat trying and "sorry" to the guys in groups two and three. Like many, there are times I simply forget what a small (however talented) group of dedicated hams this is. Anyone that thinks that TenTec (an order of magnitude larger) or anyone else can do it any better just look here. http://www.zerobeat.net/mediawiki/index.php/K3_Where_are_the_production_units%3F It may be very difficult for them to produce these transceivers in the volume we as hams expect (demand). I am SO happy to have one on order.
