For Windows users who don't currently run a Spyware detector but are considering doing so now after being alerted by this discussion, please be careful when picking one as there are many "free download" programs which claim to be spyware checkers and have lookalike names similar the ones discussed, but are in fact themselves spyware, trojan horses, or other malware.
