the Elecraft reflector and to our list of present K3 owners to make
sure everyone affected learns of this firmware release.]
Our newest firmware release for the K3 (MCU revision 1.41) has many
significant improvements, including:
- Much smoother SSB transmit power control and ALC
- TX TEST now works in SSB mode, allowing off-air MIC/CMP adjustment
- Easier CW message entry
- Noise Reduction handles wider range of input signals
- Improved operation with PC software
- Corrections to control and display behavior

You must obtain the NEWEST version of our K3 UTILITY program *BEFORE*
doing the firmware upgrade. Older versions cannot load new K3 firmware,
due to changes in the load protocol.
The new loader can be found on this page:

After installing the new loader, please run the program and follow the
instructions under Help. This will tell you how to connect the K3 to
your computer, obtain the new firmware files, and send them to the K3.
You must install *both* the latest MCU revision (1.41) and DSP revision
(1.39). This will be done automatically when you click "Send All New
Firmware to K3".

NOTE: If you have MCU revisions 1.38, 1.39, or 1.40 installed on your
K3, you must still install rev. 1.41, which has important improvements
to CW and SSB behavior in VOX and PTT modes.
