If the Kenwood desk mic includes a preamplifier or electret 
element it will not be compatible with the stock Elecraft mic 
connections.  You will need to open the Foster plug on the 
Kenwood mic and move the wire on pin 5 (Kenwood bias) to pin 
6 (Elecraft bias) or install batteries in the base of the 
Kenwood deck mic. 

The MC-60A (with preamplifier turned off) and the MC-90 are 
"pure" dynamic desk mics that should require no modification 
to work with the K3.
