Firmware authors update hfwnotes.rtf periodically. As firmware is made available to the Elecraft file server, an updated hfwnotes.rtf file is copied to the K3/firmware directory on Elecraft's FTP server, the same directory as the firmware files.
The K3 Utility copies hfwnotes.rtf from the Elecraft file server to your "firmware folder" whenever any firmware files are transferred. The K3 Utility Help menu Firmware Release Notes function displays the hfwnotes.rtf that is in your firmware folder.
