Okay...all this microphone talk piqued my interest (yes, that is
spelled correctly).

I bought my mic long, long ago. Back then, as I recall, Heil only
offered one element in a boom. I have the BM10K (just the boom, not
the headset). I opened it up today and note that the element is an
HC5.

I see that the specs are:

HC-4 Specifications:
Type: - Dynamic. Copper wound bobbin, moving coil transducer
Frequency: 500 Hz to 3,800 Hz with 10 dB rise at 2,000 Hz.
        Sensitivity: -66 dB Nominal
        Impedance: 2,000 ohms @ 1,000 Hz.
        Size: .530 x .850 x .310

HC-5 Specifications:
Type: - Dynamic. Copper wound bobbin, moving coil transducer
Frequency: 350 Hz to 4,000 Hz with 6 dB rise at 2,000 Hz.
        Sensitivity: -68 dB Nominal
        Impedance: 2,000 ohms @ 1,000 Hz.
        Size: .530 x .850 x .310

Not much difference, but two questions:

1. Can you actually hear a difference, and

2. With the K3, does it matter since there is an 8 band EQ on tx?
Could one tailor the an HC5 to "sound" like (close to) and HC4 or
vice-versa?

Thanks...
