A KBPF3 can be mounted on either or both the main receiver and KRX3. It functions the same in each receiver and adds the band pass filters to cover the frequencies outside the Ham bands. The benefit is allowing reception outside the Ham bands. There is no performance impact in the Ham bands with the KBPF3 installed.
