Sorry about what may be my confusion about this option but I've been following this thread and previous threads concerning the use of TX INH to support the use of keying loops provided by many amps. My amp provides for the use of a keying loop and I would like to continue to use the loop function whenever my own K3 arrives. Wayne's description of the latest firmware makes me wonder if it can be used as part of a keying loop. Here is what I understand from what he has posted.

The TX INH menu can be set to HI=INH (a logic 1 inhibits transmit) to accommodate the low signal that is passed thru the amplifier when it is ready to be hit with RF. Sounds good so far but then Wayne goes on to say that when the K3 is in its inhibit state "Using transmit-start switches (XMIT, TUNE, ATU, M1-M4) results in a brief "TX INH" message on VFO B. The key, keyer paddle, /PTT, and TX via PC commands are all then nonfunctional." In addition " the TX LCD icon flashes slowly". If all of these functions are inhibited then there is no way to start the keying sequence and to send a keying signal to the input of the amp's keying loop.

Am I missing something here? As currently implemented it does not appear to me that the TX INH will allow the use of a keying loop for our amps. But I can well envision its use in a multi-setup where a 'hard' inhibit is desired.
