Thanks to all with their help and advice which I must now mull over. One thing that has (rather late in the day) occurred to me is that I do not have a static IP address from my ISP. So I could, presumably, look up the address given and use that, accepting that I shall have to change the settings every time I reboot the router which is very rarely.
