My K2/10 had its own power supply in a matching enclosure. Since it has the internal battery (which incidentally, at around 8 years old, still seems OK) I set the voltage to 14.2V to keep it charged up, as recommended by Elecraft.
Due to the higher current demands of the K3/10, I got a Diamond power supply. This can cope with running the K2 at the same time, which is good because I don't have space for two power supplies. The output is variable, with a detent at 13.8V. I could crank this up to 14.2V as well, to keep the K2 charged up. Now 14.2V is within the maximum 15V supply voltage stated in the K3 spec, but still I thought I should run it by the experts for a view on whether this voltage would cause any harm to it. ----- Julian, G4ILO K3 s/n: 222 K2 s/n: 392 G4ILO's Shack: www.g4ilo.com Zerobeat Ham Forums: www.zerobeat.net/smf -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/K3-on-14.2V-supply--tp15182193p15182193.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
