Norm,

Do you have CW sidetone? Switch to CW and press SPOT to check. If there is no sidetone, you likely have the sidetone source incorrect. Enter the menu for ST L and edit the parameter - then tap DISPLAY until you hear sidetone, then stop and exit from the menu.

U6 pin 25 used to be the source for sidetone but that was changed to U8-4 when the KIO2 (and KPA100) needed to use U6 pin 25 for TXD. The firmware supports both sources so the older K2s without the sidetone source mod will work with the new firmware - however this capability to support older K2s does have its downside - sometimes the sidetone source is inadvertently changed and neither the sidetone nor the TXD signals are correct.

If that does not fix it, ask again please.

Hi All,

My K2, KIO2 quit. I traced the problem to pin 25 on U6. It has 2mV on it,
(should be 5V). Any one have ant idea where to look from there?
The rest of the radio seems to be working properly.

Thanks, Norm
