Oh for crying out loud, Tom... you give them a correction and then
SCREW IT UP YOURSELF!

CORRECTION TO BE MADE TO YOUR K3 OWNER'S manual NOT the K2 Manual.

Sorry guys.

Never claimed to be a good typist.

Thanks,

Tom

Folks:

Just to no one will go off in the wrong direction when attempting to connect
to the K3's RS-232 port...

On page 18 of the K3 Owner's Manual, The table associated with RS-232 shows:

    Pin # Description
   1,6,8,9 Not used
2 RXD IN (data to PC from K3)
3 TXD OUT (data to K3 from PC)
4 DTR (see PTT and Keying, below)
      5 Ground (RF isolated)
6 RTS (see PTT and Keying, below)

Obviously, pin 6 can't be 'Not Used' AND RTS at the same time...!

RTS should be assigned to pin 7, and pin 6 really is NOT USED.

Please make a pencil correction to your K2 Owner Manual.

73,

Tom Hammond N0SS
