Stan,
The K3 responds to a few more of the RS-232 signal lines than the K2,
but if it is working on the K2, it is quite likely to work with the K3.
Some USB to serial adapters have trouble at low speeds, but work OK at
higher speed. If your adapter has this problem, the K3 can operate at
faster data rates than the K2, so bump up the rate and try it again if
you encounter problems.
