After I published an article on an audio SWR meter, I had several discussions with a couple of blind hams. It turns out that the IC-706/703 series of radios are popular. The reason is that besides providing beeps with the button presses, the actual beep lengths change based on where you are within menus. I.e., getting into menus have one length of beep, sub menus have a slightly shorter beep, and sub-sub menus have even shorter beeps. So these hams learned the beeps, and could determine where they were within menus by listening to the beep lengths, and counting the beeps.

Just wanted to pass this on.
