Thanks, Terry! I'd been wondering what was rattling in my K3 but hadn't found it yet. That was it. The connector was hanging up somewhere along its length. I gently wiggled it and heard a small click as it slipped through. Then I was able to tighten the knurled ring a little more and now it's fine. I couldnt tell if was hung up against the front panel itself or the front panel board where it passes through. Probably the panel, maybe had a little burr or a fleck of paint or something catching against a thread.
