What makes you think I did not try to educate myself using Google?

Just because I am not an engineering type steeped in mathematics, I still want
to understand the function of the parameter. Yes, I understand the function of
AGC and what it is intended to do...and in fact...I did search Google about it
as well as looking in the Handbook to refresh my memory. That gives the
researhcer a general sense of what is going on but not specific information.

What I was curious about is the definition of the parameters in more definite
terms than what the manual has. I think the manual is good, but I think there
are places it is skimpy explaining the function of the parameter and what was
the designer's intent.

Many hams are not engineering types, but are still good operators and
builders.. I for one have Liberal Arts background, but I do understand
engineering concepts. There are others who have no formal college education,
but know more about electronics than so called engineers do. So, in the end it
is a hobby where I want to learn something, and if I ask a question which seems
to be "engineering" stupid...so be it.

Lyle did a great job of filling in the gaps....thank you Lyle.

Flame suit on!

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you don't
have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it. If you can't find
any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense. Is
Common Sense divine?
