...The only practical difference I can see between DATA A and
DATA AFSK is that in DATA AFSK you can use either the normal filter or the
DTF. Since going from one K3 data mode to the other flips sidebands I just
stick to DATA AFSK.

One thing to consider here is that (A)FSK is done with LSB by convention, but other data modes are USB by convention. Some modes are sideband agnostic, such as PSK31, while others are not, like JT65. There's a reason for DATA A being the way it is :-)
