Hi Fred I used one before I put the KDSP2 in my K2. The KAF2 will work best if you keep signal levles into it down and use more audio gain after the filter. I seem to recall there is some way to adjust gain in the filter, but I forget just what it is. Where you have enough signal strength, you might benefit from using the attenuator or just straight in. You may not need the preamp except on the higher bands where signals just are not strong.
If you have Spectrogram 5.1.7, be sure to use it to carefully match the AF filter to the crystal filter passbands for the best results.
