As I understand it, the Elecraft message is built up incrementally as the early intialisation proceeds, so, if that initialisation crashes or stalls, you can tell how far it got.

I suspect the rig will freeze with the partial Elecraft, so if it does not, the partial message may be indicative of a problem in the hardware associated with the display, or in the AUXBus communication between the main micro-controller and the display controller.
