Hi Bud,

I think that you will really enjoy both building and using your K1. I have a 4-band K1 (40, 30, 20, 15) and I actually use it as my main station rig. (I have a KX-1 for portable operations). It's a great little radio. Not too hard to build and the learning curve for using all of it's features is not too bad either. About a year ago I added the backlight option but would recommend that if this is something that you want it would be much easier to do it during the initial build. Most recently I added the ATU unit and retired my old MFJ Versa Tuner. If you have any questions during the building process be sure to post them. I am sure that you will get helpful responses in spite of the "K3 fever" that currently saturates the list. There are also searchable archives that can help. Good luck and have fun!
