I am wondering why Elecraft doesn't provide variable SSB transmit filtering. We have receive filtering down to 50 Hz. Why not "dial-a" bandwidth transmit filtering. We could have a stock 2.7 KHz filter but dialed down to 2.1 or 1.8 KHz for DX/Contesting. I guess the variable roofing filter will eventually accomplish this but why not do it in the signal processor?
