While carrying out the cw keying mod last week I noticed one of the top cover standoffs was pretty slack and prevented me from tightening the screw sufficiently. I made a mental note to go round all the screws and check they were all secure - I remember the manual emphasising that screening can be compromised by not securing screws sufficiently.

Finally got round to it today; maybe I was too gentle when I put my K3 together last December but I did find several screws needing a tweak and some were pretty loose in fact. The radio has not been mobile or moved much so my advice would be to go round with a screw driver and 6BA nut driver a couple of months into service just to check everything's still tight. The design is so good that all the fixings are easily accessible without any hassle after removing the top and bottom covers, with the exception of the ones underneath the KPA100 and for now I've ignored those.....

Still having fun and looking forward to the second receiver.....
