I read them. Over the past several years agreed with some, disagreed with some when owning the rig reviewed. Never pay much attention when the call isn't given, some write great reviews when selling a rig, some won't write a bad review especially when paying out a sizeable amount of money for a new rig. Several years ago (over 20) a newsletter publisher highly regarded by many really talked up a new Kenwood rig. I bought one and I quickly noticed it was one of the noisiest rigs I ever owned, drifted, and was very non selective. I could hear stations several KC's up or down the band. I quickly dumped it. Not to say all Kenwoods are bad rigs.
Always be very cautious if it's touted as the best thing since sliced bread but still have an open mind. By the way, I own Icoms and also have the K-3. I like my K-3. Just a couple of items I would like to see I understand are being worked on for future firmware updates. I think we are close. Oh! And I have been looking at the 7700 also. 73 de KE4WY Jim -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of akm Sent: Monday, April 07, 2008 11:17 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Elecraft] K3 and Icom 7700 Hi all just read Eham review of Ic7700 in comparison with K3.
