I'd look for a device that communicates with Bluetooth devices and has

work to create a cable that connects to the radio's microphone / headset

I'm looking for a device that I can plug into the Headphone jack of a hand-held radio (scanner, HT. etc) and allow me to use the "single ear teardrop" type of Bluetooth earphone. Microphone capability not needed or wanted. When I looked for this a while ago I was overloaded by jargon (and I'm a graduate engineer!) the bottom line of which was that the encoding protocol used for such earphones was different from the "double ear" type of music earphones.
