I've recently been using an SEC1223 switched mode supply, but started hearing wandering noises on 80m that came from the PSU, this was one of the later "CE Marked" units with output filtering. Some models of switched mode units appear to include a "tuning" control to move the birdies... The power supply has been replaced with a Racal 115-12-35 (13.8 Volt, 35 Amp continuous rating) linear supply which doesn't emit RF!

I would no longer recommend any switched mode supply unless weight is a real issue. The Racal supplies are appearing on the UK surplus market (and eBay) in small quantities, they are "new old stock" and made by Newmar in California for Racal. Build quality is excellent, they include crowbar protection, over temperature shut down, circuit diagram and spare fuses. They weigh around 13 Kg, so are probably not economical to ship overseas.

Any good ideas?
Presently using an old (and heavy) Yeasy power supply, working very well
but - like many others I plan to bring my K3 on trips as well.
Anyone tested the MFJ-4125? In that case: How about the noise level?
Any other/better low weight switching power supplies?
Must say the K3 performs very well and has exceeded my expectations.
