The upgrade problem was solved thanks to Wayne. Several of the new
features seem to be working. There are so many new bells that I will
need several days to check thru them.
Basically I did two things for a successful upgrade. I suspected a
problem going thru the MKII with "No Radio and No Polling". So I
switched to another USB to serial interface. That was one
thing. The other was I deleted all of the upgrade files (possible
corruption??) and downloaded new files to transfer with the K3
Utility. I uploaded the 1.88/1.70 set and re did the VCO CAL. It
runs from 1 to 50 at about a second per count. then a variable speed
from 50+ to 127+. No errors on Tech MD exit or on the next power cycle.
It works like a charm now and tickled pink with the K3 again.
