I didn't notice that there was a finished side and an unfinished side on
the fan panel if that is what you mean by "Amp Plate." Both sides were
about the same as I recall. Can you install it per the manual with what
you call the "finished side" perhaps facing a direction other than what
you tried??? If so, then you can press on with the installation and if
you have defective paint on the fan panel, I'm sure that Elecraft will
send you a replacement.

Just curious. Up until this point the build and Calibration was going
smooth now Im at a stand still.
