VFO B Alternate Displays is a topic on page 34 of the Owner's Manual. Not much info there. Basically, you operate it as I described: get your reference, in AFV, then switch to dBV. If AGC is off, you'll get absolute relationships as long as the hardware AGC is not activated. On the other hand, with AGC on you can determine what the AGC SLP (slope) control does, etc.

It's pretty much up to your imagination...
