I have an older HEIL Proset Plus! I bought in the late 90's.

It does not require bias, although using bias will not harm it.  HEIL has a
resistor in the mic to protect it from bias.

The mic has an eight pin adapter for the Kenwood rigs, but I don't use it.  you
can just remove it and plug the mono mic plug into the mono mike jack in the
back of the K3.  You can also plug the phones into the rear panel using an
adapter to reduce the size of the stereo plug.  If you remove the cable adapter
you will have use a foot switch for PTT when you don't want to use VOX.

It works great.  Thank you Elecraft for letting me keep my old headset mic :O)
