Just a word of caution for anyone planning to use CW Skimmer with the K3/LP-PAN. If using the Softrock-IF mode, which is intended for radios like the K3 with a fixed IF output, Skimmer has a bandwidth limitation of 24 kHz (i.e. +/- 12 kHz around whatever frequency the K3 VFO is set to)...and the spectrum display will only be 20 kHz(i.e. +/- 10 kHz). The way you would see calls on the full 24 kHz will be to look at the decoded callsign list...not the spectrum display.
This is an internal limitation of Skimmer and not due to either the K3 or LP-PAN, both of which can provide 192 kHz. After many emails with Alex VE3NEA, I don't believe this limitation will be changed in the near future, but I hope I'm proven wrong. If you want the full 96 or 192 kHz waterfall, use PowerSDR or WinRad. 73, Bill -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/-K3--CW-Skimmer-and-LP-PAN-Bandwidth-Limitation-tp17611191p17611191.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
