Forrest,

Your elecraft forum post on your K3 #977 is very good. I had the same problem
with the 2-56 screws on the front panel. I found some extra steel 2-56 screws
and used them to clear out the front panel holes before using the Elecraft
supplied ones. It seems to be some paint that got into these holes.

The information supplied by folks on the forum and carefully reading the book
the front panel mounting was actually rather easy. The key is go slow and
check everything carefully many times.

My only real problems were self induced either to stupidity or misunderstanding
of the manual.

Your method of sorting the hardware is very good and effective. What I did is
put each type of hardware into labeled resealable plastic bags and place these
bags in a tray sorted by size. (I ordered a 1000 bag box of small resealable
bags off the internet for around $10.00). I used the same bags when building my
K2 and found them very effective in keeping all the parts in order. This shows
you that there are many right ways to do things.

Have fun and enjoy your K3.
