When I was setting up PSK-31 (Digipan) and RTTY (MMTTY) I found that I needed to use Stereo cables (both ends) without a stereo/mono adapter for the computer interface. Then I adjusted the sound card LINE IN/OUT levels for a signal on left (or right) only. Now I have good level control and, hopefully, clean signals on those two digital modes.
