Re Optivisor,

I use this magnifier from Harbor Freight for surface mount work:
ITEM 38896-5VGA
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=38896

It comes with flip up and down lenses that allow easy change of
magnification as well as a loupe lens that rotates into view on the right
eye only for really close up work. The lenses are plastic but there is no
visible optical aberration, quite good in fact. Sometimes this item goes on
sale for around $4. I don't use the built in lights much.

At this price I don't worry much about handling them around the workbench; I
happen to live close to Harbor Freight and am in there regularly. However I
haven't needed to buy another magnifier since I purchased these three years
ago.

Looking to buy an Optivisor over the internet but not sure what power to
get...I usually wear 1.50 or 1.75 cheaters to read...any suggestions
for what to get to be able to solder those itty, bitty Elecraft parts?
