How can the USB-to-Serial Cable be used with WinVista? The driver CD that came with the cable from Elecraft does not provide Vista drivers.
The Elecraft website (=> Software => K3 Software and Downloader => K3 Utilities for Windows, Mac and Linux => Important) solicitates installing the latest USB drivers from the Prolific web site instead of the older ones on the supplied disk. At http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31, however, notifies readers, that Prolific will not be providing Vista drivers for end-users and refers customers to the vendor of your cable. Did anybody succeed to install and use the cable with WinVista and how? Secondly, the cable uses the 9pin-serial port at the rear panel. The same port is needed for the cable to control the linear amplifier (in my case HL-1.5KFX which requires Kenwood cable and command). How can I use computer AND amplifier with the K3 at the same time? Any suggestions? Thanks! 73s DF1AL Joe _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr.
