Hi Tony:
I recently added a 1kHz filter to my K3 (just in time for Field Day...).
When I'm contesting, I often try to use a semi-wide b/w filter, so I
can keep track of who is on either side of me AND so I can try to catch
those who can't seem to zero beat my calling frequency.
Before I added the 1kHz filter, I had only a 2.8kHz (SSB) filter which
was good, but it allowed to much 'crud' in from 'up above'... with the
1kHz filter I can now roll off a LOT of the upper RM and get down to the
business of copying what I was trying to copy in the first place.
I also have a 400Hz filter for those times when I need something a bit
more narrow, but I use the 1kHz a lot.

Hello everyone,
I've just been informed by Elecraft that my KRX3 will be ready to ship in a
couple of weeks, and I need to decide on filters for it.
I'm wondering about the 1000Hz filter. Who out there is using it, and for
what purposes, and what can you tell me about its performance?
