Back in the day, I had an FT890 which was furnished with a very lightweight tuning knob. I got some lead tape from a golf supply store and packed the back of the knob with as much tape as I could fit near the outside diameter of the knob. Almost made the FT890 seem like a real radio! Also a very inexpensive solution.
