If you are that will make your SSB output greater than your CW output and if you are setting the drive to show 1500w on average in both modes you will be transmitting at an illegal power on SSB. Leave them both the same and you will have the same PEAK output in both modes, which is what is the legal setting on SSB and CW. To prove this, if you have a monitor scope, observe the PEAK output on both modes and you will see that the CW PEAK and the SSB PEAK are the same when you set the drive with CW, unless your mic gain is too low. If the mic gain is too low, don't adjust the drive, adjust the mic gain until the peak output on the scope is the same for SSB as it is on CW.
