5 watts is 5 watts, independent of rig.

You are correct, of course. I run QRP on 160m in the Stew Perry Topband Challenge, which rewards the stations working the QRP stations with additional points for putting in the extra receiving effort. In other 160m contests I usually run at least 100w "just to make it fair" (about 2 S-Units stronger signals).
