I've not experienced this Brian. When I turn the NB on/off and the hardware blanker is enabled, I can hear a mechanical click. I am assuming it is the hardware blanker causing the "chops." Perhaps the relay is not disengaging it when you turn off NB using the front panel button. Does it disengage when you turn it off using the Level adjustment?
