Aside from the fact that many unused kits sell for almost the price of a new one, there is a certain value in having the warranty (one year) of a new kit in addition to the guarantee of success that is attached to it. You are also assured of the latest version firmware and current state of any mods that may have been applied. If you buy and older unassembled kit, you can be assured that you will get all the advice and info needed to make it a success, but there is always a chance that implementing changes and add-ins/upgrades will com at a price.
