Do you see the red TX light on? If so, you are in transmit and the
monitor volume is too high. Perhaps something has closed your PTT circuit.
I could also suspect an RF Feedback problem. Give us more details about
the state and conditions under which you observe this. Is it really
frequency dependent?

I can actually speak through the bigger "grille" opening on top of the radio
and hear myself. I can't hear any weak signals on that frequency because it
