Dave,
Respectfully, IMO you are making a big mistake and over-estimating your
perceived difficulty with the KRX3 installation.
I put mine in in under 3 hours with no complications at all. Front
panel does not need to be disassembled.... just removed and
reinstalled. It was not hard. Actually, the most challenging aspect is
routing the coaxial jumpers and even that is no big deal.
The effect of the second receiver added to the K3 is simply outstanding
and worth any time that you must dedicate to it. It is like nothing else
I have used in 30+ years of dx'ing.
I'd rethink the decision and not buy into the overstated opinions of a
few here on the reflector. The KRX3 turns the K3 into an entirely
different transceiver.
